Antique 19th-century French Copper Mold Shell In Good Condition.

Measures approximately 4 1/2" tall and 2" wide

This item is commonly referred to as a jelly or aspic mold, with a ribbed, oval, or melon shape. The small loop at the top indicates it was designed for wall display, a popular feature for kitchen decor.

These molds were historically used during the Victorian era for preparing various molded foods, including sweet gelatin desserts (like blancmange or Jell-O), savory aspics, puddings, and small cakes. The excellent heat conductivity of copper ensured even cooking and molding.

The distinctive ribbed, oval shape resembles a small melon or a large egg, and is a common design among vintage copper kitchenware.

An Awesome Antique Copper Mold Shell For The Collector.
