I inherited this iconic collectors radio made by Hacker . It weights about 4.5 kilograms , with batteries in. its built with very strong materials It was not working when I got it . I opened the back . [ easy to do] i found a battery compartment empty. I saw it took 8 x 1.5 batteries. Heavy duty. I managed to buy a set at a reasonable price online, I was a bit hesitant. I put the batteries in ,turned it on , it worked !! I found FM worked best . The BBC very clear . I think to use long wave it needs a arial extension. It comes with an original arial. Its is like an old style car arial. It has no damage considering its a vintage
