In 1981 Paddy Smith started selling basic cloth patches printed with his handiwork on of Lambretta silhouettes to commemorate national rally’s like Great Yarmouth, Bridlington, Isle of Wight etc. They usually sold out immediately. This prompted him to make more and eventually he made a patch to celebrate every National Rally for 18 years up until 1999. Paddy sadly passed in 2017, if not for his designs on 4-inch square pieces of cloth, the memories, the people met and the drinks we had at each weekend would be forgotten. Wearing scooter patchs let alone one of his showed that you were part of the adventure - something bigger than yourself. That’s what makes these pieces so rare and collectible.
