1800's Antique Mt. Washington Quilted Satin Art Glass “Jack in the Pulpit". This piece came from an estate sale a few years back. The vase measures 10.5” in height to its flower’s peek, and 6” wide at its widest point of the flower. I am not sure if this piece had a separate stand at some point, as the base seems to be narrow but it does stand firmly regardless. I had it displayed on the side, as shown in some of the pictures. This unique vase is in a beautiful antique condition with minor, minor chips on the base, along with some glass bubbles.
Research shows that Murano Glass also produced similar pieces as well in satin quilted glass and mother of pearl lining. Likewise, Tiffany produced similar vases but I was told this one is by Mt. Washington. All together these styles of glass vases were a true test for all glass makers due to the level of difficulty and complexity needed to execute them.
