The distinctive black lines are created by applying real horsehair to the hot pottery during the firing process, which carbonizes and leaves unique, random markings. The top portion features hand-etched symbols and traditional color bands in purple, teal, and reddish-brown. It is handmade by Navajo Native American artisan Skeeter Vail. Made in the US and is signed by the artist on the bottom.
