Even those of us who are natives were wowed by Nickman's imagery. And the music was revolutionary in its day, and still holds up to critical scrutiny. Whether you call it "instrumental rock & roll" or "uptempo New Age" or "adult contemporary music" the stuff is pleasant without becoming cloying, like so many imitators.
