For your consideration is this vintage Toby style mug made in Japan most likely during the 1920s to 1930s, prior to WWII. This little guy is too adorable. He is a portly Colonial Era man who looks to be quite content sitting in a tavern holding his beer. He has squinty eyes, a little smile, and cute dimples. His hat is actually the three-way pour spout. I did not a spot on the side spout where the black finish is void. I looked through my loupe, but cannot ascertain if chips or manufacturing glazing defects. Either way, a quick touch up with some acrylic paint or Sharpie should made the spot invisible. He does have quite a bit of crazing both externally and internally. In my humble opinion, it only adds to his charm. The mug measures 4.2 inches long (spout to handle) x 2.68 inches wide (side spout to side spout) x 4.38 inches high.
