The sea otter is the largest otter and lives along rocky
pacific coasts from California to Alaska. They can reach
lengths of approx. five feet and weights of 85 lbs. They
feed mostly on sea urchins and mollusks, spend most of their time
resting, seldom venturing onto land. These animals have been hunted
for their fur to such an extent that they were near extinction in
the early 1990's. The sea otter is now fully protected and is increasing
in numbers. 3.5"high
