Robert H. Hodgkin (1877-1951) was an English historian at Queen's College, Oxford, best known for his 2 Volume History of Anglo-Saxon England published in 1935 and later revised and expanded. Though dated, this pioneering study shaped scholarship for three generations and remains a valuable resource for students of the Anglo-Saxons. This copy of Volume 1 is the 3rd revised edition of 1952. From a private collection it is in good condition with tight binding and clean unmarked pages. The original dustjacket is considerably worn and has numerous tears but the book itself is clean and has minimal wear. See all photos carefully to judge condition. Smoke free home.
