This pretty demitasse cup and saucer set is by Shelley. The backstamp indicates it was manufactured between 1945-1966. Both cup and saucer are marked Fine Bone China / Shelley / England / Syringa. The set is in the Syringa pattern, white with a floral design in shades of green, ivory and yellow. The handle is light green, and the upper edge of the cup, band around the narrow cup foot and outer edge of the saucer are green. Shelley china shapes have names; this one is the Dainty pattern, a sort of scalloped edge with delicate vertical ribs extending from the scallops. This set is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, stains or other issues. It is from an estate.
