Antique Peters & Reed Zane Art Pottery Berry Leaf Column Floral Bookends 1900s
Peters and Reed Pottery was established in 1899 in South Zanesvile, Ohio, and the company used the local red clay to create functional and decorative art ware. In 1921, Peters and Reed changed its name to The Zane Pottery Company. These bookends were likely made between 1912 and 1921.
Nice antique condition; possible hairline crack on one side and some glaze wear on an outer edge consistent with age, use, and storage. Light crazing on the back. About 5" tall, 5 1/2" long, and 2 1/2" deep. Each weighs a little over 2 pounds. There is some very faint writing on the back of one bookend.
