The "T4 S1 Combat Jacket" is the successor to the "T3 Combat Jacket," which appeared around 2008.
FELIN is a system that was gradually adopted by the French military from the 2000s. It is new equipment that integrates information technology to fight more effectively and efficiently on the modern battlefield.
The jacket features the French Army's representative CCE camo (CAMOUFLAGE CENTRAL EUROPE). The ripstop fabric uses a cotton-poly blend. The sleeves are reinforced with a polyamide blend from the outer elbow to the cuff for increased strength.
The front has a double zipper and a Velcro-closure fly design, and can be used as a stand-up collar jacket when closed to the neck. The zipper pulls and buttons are made of flexible materials.
The chest pockets have openings near the sides for easy access to contents even when wearing body armor. The waist pockets have a three-dimensional design, and the buttons use slot buttons (parachute buttons).
Both arms have utility pockets with gussets and Velcro panels. An inner pocket with Velcro closure is also included on the left chest.
The "T4 S1" includes pockets for elbow pads, and elbow pads are also included. The straps near the elbows are a gimmick for securing the elbow pads. Mesh ventilation is included under the arms, also with a double-zip design.
