The filter paper, after being wrapped around the lacquer and squeezed tightly at both ends, becomes dyed in deep colors and takes on a unique texture that retains its wrinkles. Although it is usually discarded, its unintentional beauty catches the eye.

The ballpoint pens, wrapped in lacquer filter paper dyed in various shades of dark and light colors, are upcycled items born in the workshop of a maki-e artist active in Yamanaka lacquerware. The color scheme has a playful bi-color design. When you write with the pen, the soft firmness of the Japanese paper feels comfortable on your fingers.
