Yunjin brocade, also known as cloud brocade, has a history of over 1,500 years and was once an imperial tribute. The weaving technique is complex, requiring two artisans to operate a large loom, and is recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage.
It is said that "an inch of brocade is an inch of gold" due to the meticulous craftsmanship and high value, many woven with strands of gold and silver.
This piece is framed in an ornate gold frame and will come in a silk/satin lined box. The box is original and has come unglued in some spots and shows wear.
