Hand-painted in the renowned pottery hubs of Jalisco, Mexico, this terra cotta figurine is a beautiful example of the "Brunido" or smooth, burnished style matte finishwhich gives the clay a soft, natural sheen without a heavy glaze, and that has made Tonala ceramics famous worldwide.

Features a graceful, rounded bird form decorated with intricate floral patterns, scrolls, and cross-hatch detailing in muted palette of blues, grays and earth tones, and the nature inspired motifs of the iconic Flor de Tonala (Tonala flower) that define this centuries-old tradition.

Hand signed on the bottom with the artist's initials, "RS" and Mexico.

Measures approx. 7" L x 4" H.
