ORIGINAL VINTAGE CLEAR GLASS CHAMBER STYLE OIL LAMP ELEGANT DESIGN

This is a vintage clear glass oil lamp, a type of portable lighting that was widely used in homes before the advent of electricity. The lamp is made of clear glass, including both the fuel fount (base) and the hurricane chimney. The base features decorative patterns, such as the "late petal" and ribbed designs on this one.
It consists of a glass fuel tank, a metal burner mechanism (which holds the wick and adjusts the flame), and a removable glass chimney that protects the flame from drafts and enhances light output. These lamps are designed to burn lamp oil or kerosene. A cotton wick runs from the fount up through the burner. The heat from the flame draws the fuel up the wick by capillary action. Glass oil lamps became more popular with the development of glassblowing techniques around the 4th century BC and were widely used in the 18th and 19th centuries.
