This is vintage estate jewelry — I inherited it from a friend of the family, and it was worn to her wedding. She died in 2009 in her 80s, so this is an older necklace.
I took it to a jewelry store and had the clasp cleaned, hooks/loops replaced with new gold filled (not stamped) ones because the old ones were very tarnished, and it was restrung. They confirmed the pearls are real.
I don’t think it’s restrung 100% flat because the biggest pearl isn’t centered, but they told me it’s supposed to be that way and once it’s worn in again, it’ll lay flat. You can always have it restrung again, though!
