Vintage ironstone transferware bowl in the Pyrethrum Pattern also called “Daisies and Bees” design made by George Jones & Sons Ltd from the Victorian Aesthetic Movement Era. Made between 1884 to 1890. Printed registration markings on back: Rd No 826. This pattern was registered on January 25, 1884. Pyrethrum was a genus of a number of Old World plants now classified in either Chrysanthemum or Tanacetum.
Brown transferware rimmed bowl measures 9”’diameter and 1-1/2” tall. Hand painted polychrome details. The pattern is known for its detailed depiction of wild daisies and insects.
No chips, scratches or cracks. Discoloration around the rim almost looks like it is peeling. Surface is still smooth.
