The store's philosophy centered on globally sourced, handmade ethnic clothing & goods, supporting artisans & focusing on intricate handwork like embroidery beadwork & appliqué. Margolis is credited with helping to create the "wearable art movement in the West". The Santa Fe store became a premier destination, dressing Hollywood stars.
This Middle Eastern handmade kaftan dress is in good vintage condition; a few small spots/marks & tiny repaired holes as pictured. Wide ribbon trim & a high patchwork bodice & sleeves. Reversible - front or back zipper. Feels like linen & heavy cotton.
