This is a vintage Sandvik single-bit axe head, made in Sweden. Known for superior Swedish steel, this head is marked "SANDVIK SWEDEN" on one side and "1.0 / 2-1/4" on the reverse, indicating a weight of 1.0 kg (approx. 2.25 lbs).

Condition: The head is in good "as-found" condition. It retains much of its original high-visibility orange paint. The poll is in excellent shape with no significant mushrooming. There is typical surface oxidation and patina consistent with age. The bit is currently unsharpened, making it a perfect candidate for a custom hang and restoration. No cracks or repairs were found. This is a premium forestry tool ready to be put back to work or added to a vintage tool collection.
