1956 Owens ILL Pharmacy Apothecary Globe. The clear glass jar has a ribbed design with 3 protruding glass knobs around its circumference and stands in a three-legged metal stand, which was also know as carboys. These were a common form of advertising for apothecaries and displayed in pharmacy windows filled with colored liquid, to indicate the type of store. This classic glass craftsmanship by Owens-Illinois Glass Company is unique piece. Whether a pharmacist, a collector, or vintage enthusiast, this show globe is the perfect display item. It is a true mid-century collectible. Measures 8 3/4" T x 3 3/4" Dia, 12 1/4" Cir. 7" w/o stopper, 4 1/2" stand. Excellent vintage condition. No chips, fogginess, or cracks. The jar's rim has a tiny fleabite and a fleabite on the ground stopper edge. The stopper has a hard-rubber plug that is perfect. This original metal display stand has no broken welds and holds the piece wonderfully. Total weight 10 oz.
