Silver plated figurine of a traditional Jewish "Fiddler on the Roof", made popular by the Broadway musical and movie. This figurine was made in Israel and depicts a bearded Eastern European Jewish fiddler with long coat and fur hat, fiddling while sitting on top of the tiled roof of a simple peasant house.
The artist, or maker, is marked "TAWFI" near the bottom of his coat. Tawfi (or Tawfiq) is an artist known for creating distinctive Judaica sculptures and figurines, particularly those featuring themes from Fiddler on the Roof, like Tevye the milkman and the iconic fiddler, often using silver-plated resin or metal, representing the musical's beloved Jewish life in Anatevka with a touch of folk art
