Antique Japanese decorative bowl dating to the early 20th century (circa 1900–1930).

Featuring a soft celadon-green glaze with molded relief decoration of flowers, foliage, and an insect motif. The raised design is hand-enamelled with delicate hand-painted details and subtle gold accents.

The bowl has a scalloped shell-form rim with a small pouring notch, typical of Japanese export decorative tableware from the Meiji–Taishō period. Decoration is molded in low relief rather than flat-painted, giving the surface depth and texture.

Unmarked for retail sale but bears a faint impressed oval kiln mark to the base, consistent with Japanese export production of the period.

Condition

One small chip to the underside of the top rim, not prominent when displayed. No cracks or repairs. Light wear to gilt consistent with age. Overall very good antique condition.
