Pfaltzgraff's Yorktowne pattern,introduced in 1967, was inspired by 19th-century salt-glazed stoneware, created to honor York, PA, and became one of the company's most popular, representing a shift from just traditional pottery to broader dinnerware, though production for the pattern ended in 2007. The Pfaltzgraff company itself began in York County, Pennsylvania, with the family's arrival in the early 1800s.
