Vintage 90's "Belly Flopping" Collectible Plate
This is a collector's plate from the "Black Tie Affair" collection, titled "Belly Flopping", and created by artist Carlyn Jagodits (sometimes spelled Carolyn Jagodite or Yagoda). The collection was produced by W.S. George in 1992. This particular plate is part of a limited edition series featuring scenes of penguins. The artwork captures the natural behavior of penguins "tobogganing" or sliding on their bellies across the snow and ice, a more efficient way to move than waddling on land.
