Stunning French vintage Edwardian shirt

I can’t deny that this is one of my favourite finds…and a very rare one French Edwardian…made from a wonderful quality hand woven cotton There is so much detailing to this piece that it’s probably best to pour over the photos…but I’ll try and describe everything here! A beautiful oversized ruffle collar with broidery anglaise edging, which also runs down the centre of the blouse (either side of the button placard) and finishes the cuffs off too! (Insane amounts of work!) Pintuck detailing either side of the centre front, with added embroidery in the centre of this!! Every stitch…no matter how small…has been sewn by hand. It’s phenomenal! It’s in unbelievable condition and is over 110 years old!! Crazy! Very wearable This is testament to the quality of workmanship and fabric that was commonplace in Edwardian times, and sorely missing in modern high street clothing. (Don’t get me started!! But this is one of the many reasons why I tend towards buying vintage!!) Armpit-Armpit 20.5”-21” Shoulders (seam-seam) 16.5-17” Length 22” Just a guideline and approx Approx Medium Looks fab with jeans and high waisted trousers or skirts. Only has 2 buttons the one at the collar is missing…but easily rectified if you feel it needs it. A pinhead sized mark hidden by the central placard. And the stitching inside the collar is perhaps a little untidy. Under both arms (which are clean btw) are two areas where the stitching has been missed…not holes, just ‘pockets’ cannot be seen when worn, and are easily stitched if you’re concerned. Please see last 2 pics. But ultimately this is in excellent vintage condition. NB: just a reminder this is vintage and well over 100 years old. It is unique and beautiful…but not new!
