This is a U.S. Commemorative Gallery "The Benjamin Franklin Collection" set featuring a Franklin Half Silver Dollar, a Massachusetts Statehood Quarter Dollar, and two stamps.
The Franklin Half Silver Dollar was minted from 1948-1963 and is made of 90% silver.
Benjamin Franklin is the only non-president to appear on a circulating United States coin.
The set includes a 3-cent stamp featuring Franklin and a 20-cent stamp celebrating American libraries.
The collection highlights Franklin's many talents as a printer, author, diplomat, politician, philosopher, inventor, and scientist.
The stamps were cancelled on January 17, 2006, to mark the coin's release and Franklin's birthday.
The mintage for this set was limited to only 58,000 units.
