Philips DVP5990/F7 DVD Player with HDMI output and original Philips remote. This is a late-generation DVD player that delivers 1080p upscaling over HDMI, making DVDs look their best on modern HDTVs.
The unit is in excellent condition and has been fully tested. There is only light cosmetic marking on the top of the front bezel; otherwise, it presents very cleanly. Disc tray, buttons, and remote all work as they should.
Features include DivX Ultra certification, support for DVD±R/RW, CD, VCD, SVCD, MP3, WMA, JPEG, and WMV playback, plus component, composite, and digital coaxial audio outputs. Internally, it uses a 12-bit video DAC and a 24-bit / 192 kHz audio DAC.
Important note: although sometimes mislabeled online, this player does not play 4K or Ultra HD discs. “Ultra” refers to DivX Ultra certification. Maximum output resolution is 1080p via HDMI.
