A charming pair of antique Continental porcelain spill vases, dating to the late 19th/early 20th century. Each vase is hand-painted in rich cobalt blue on a white ground, with finely modelled figures of a gentleman and lady in period costume, posed against a tall flower-head design that forms the vase. The lady has a broken hand. The pair make a striking decorative display, with their romantic styling and distinctive blue-and-white palette, reminiscent of German and Bohemian porcelain of the era. • Height approx. 7 inches (23–25 cm) • Continental European, likely German, c.1900 • Hand-painted in underglaze cobalt blue Condition: Overall very good for their age. No major cracks or repairs noted; some typical light age-related wear to the glaze and the lady has a broken hand. A wonderful decorative pair for collectors of Continental porcelain, blue & white ceramics, or antique mantle vases.
