Set of nine vintage luncheon plates, each approx. 9" in diameter, produced by Regal Ware England circa 1920s–30s. These ceramic plates feature a vibrant transferware design—a variation of the classic Indian Tree pattern—with a flowering tree motif, concentric floral bands, and a Greek key border. The pattern reflects chinoiserie influences popular in early 20th-century Staffordshire ceramics.
These plates were used in the dining room of Miss Wright’s School for Girls in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, a private institution operated by members of my family until its closure in 1936.
All plates show vintage wear consistent with age, including visible crazing in the glaze. No chips or cracks. Colors remain vivid and the transfer pattern is well-preserved. Ideal for display, collectors of English ceramics, or those interested in Main Line educational history.
