Buffalo Bore, responding to many requests, has developed an expanding 480 Ruger load featuring Barnes' all-copper XPB bullet. This bullet, fired into living tissue at typical speeds, expands to around .75 caliber, creating a lethal wound on animals that don't require deep penetration. Expect 2.5 to 3 feet of penetration, sufficient for killing animals up to 500 lbs. or 1,000 lbs. with broadside lung shots. This load is accurate and has low recoil, making it ideal for hunting deer, hogs, black bear, and similar game with a 480 Ruger. Tested in 475 Linebaugh revolvers, it averages 1530 fps with a low standard deviation.
