Rocky Mountain Clay's BMX (Best Mix) Cone 6 Pottery Clay is an all-purpose mid fire stoneware clay that is perfect for wheel throwing and hand building. It ranges in firing color from a soft white to a light gray color. This smooth, white throwing body is easy to use and accepts a wide range of glazes and underglazes. With an optimum percentage of clays and raw materials to achieve a silky soft white (no iron spots) clay, BMX can be fired between Cone 5 to Cone 7 but is achieves best results when fired at Cone 6. When fired in a reduction kiln atmosphere, BMX fires white to a light, stormy sky gray. Mixed by Rocky Mountain Clay in Denver, Colorado.
