That corrugation causes turbulence and drastically slows the airflow into the engine, robbing power. Rubber in the engine bay is also notorious for becoming brittle and cracking over time, especially rubber that flexes every time you punch the throttle. Those cracks lead to vacuum leaks after the MAF sensor that can cause check-engine lights, misfires, and reduced power.----To solve these issues, we’ve replaced the stock corrugated rubber hose with a smooth silicone piece.
