This is a Vintage Framed Mirror Featuring the 1792 Jan Barend Elwe Mappe Monde ou Description Du Globe Terrestre & Aquatique artwork. It is a Gott, Goldberg and Vanderbei’s projection of the world globe map created by Dutch bookseller and cartographer, Jan Barend Elwe in 1792. The mirrror is 18.5 inches by 23 inches and it sits in a dark wood frame for a total size of 24 inches tall and 28 inches wide. It has a mounting wire for wall mounting.
The mirror has a clean crack in the lower left corner but it fits back together cleanly so it is hard to see without inspection. It has not been glued but could be to make it even less noticeable. You can only see a line in the mirror border going to the edge into the frame at both ends of the crack in an arch. The frame is in good condition with only mild signs of used. The mirror has some tiny parts where it has peeled off the glass in the corners but again, not very noticeable.
