A lovely Victorian Green Shoe, by Moser Glass Company, Pattern #108. Boot is a forest-green pressed glass with an intricate faceted design and scalloped 8-button closure, beaded edge detail and a decorative tassel. The boot has a solid heel and hollow toe. There is no maker's mark.
Mosser Glass Company has produced an assortment of collectible glass shoes, both slippers and boots, based on 19th century designs. Among the most popular is the fine cut pattern which Mosser introduced in 1973 and produced - actually replicates a Victorian high-button shoe, intended to shield milady's ankle from public view.
