Beautiful 980 silver bracelet with eight dark and light blue enameled flower panels linked together. The 925 lobster claw clasp is not original to the piece. The enamel flowers are very similar in look and construction to other enameled pieces marked Maya Mexico. The 980 mark is exactly like the Maya 980 mark on other pieces and on page 109 of Bille Hougart's Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks. I speculate that the Maya Mexico mark was on the old clasp, or this was originally part of a necklace that had the Maya mark on another section. Whatever its history, it is delightful. In very good to excellent condition. There are small spots of enamel loss on several of the flowers, but these are not apparent without very close scrutiny or magnification.

♦ Markings: 980 (98% silver) on panels. Clasp marked 925.
