Description
Here is a wonderful 1950/60's Venetian glass
'Geode' bowl/dish, ashtray made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. These bowls were made by several manufacturers, including Archimede Seguso and Cenedese. Very similar items by these makers are shown in the book Italian Glass: Century 20 by Leslie Pina. In a stunning combination of green glass cased in amber glass, which is further encased in clear glass, using the renowned Venetian Sommerso technique.
The inside of the bowl is emerald green dipped on golden amber all submerged in bright clear glass and as you would expect reflects light from every angle.
