Exhibition art print of Sea, 1929, by Harue Koga, part of our collection in honour of Surrealism Beyond Borders at in Britain.
Painted in a photomontage style, Koga used images from magazines, postcards and newspapers for this artwork, re-sizing and painting them with meticulous precision on a large canvas.
This art print is 30 x 40 cm (11.8 inches x 15.7 inches) including white border. It’s printed on responsibly sourced Mondi 300gsm paper (FSC certified paper and card) by Sussex-based printers. The paper is FSC certified and responsibly sourced.
Image is in excellent condition. Paper has very slightly bent corner tips in white margin.
HARUE KOGA: (1895 – 1933) was a Japanese painter. Associated with the avant-garde and Surrealism movements, he is considered a key figure in the Japanese surrealist movement. His practice combined elements of Cubism, Dadaism, Surrealism and painted collage, often accompanying his works with his own avant-garde poetry.
