First edition, first printing hardcover copy of Eragon by Christopher Paolini (Alfred A. Knopf, 2003). The first edition commercially available after Peolini self-published the novel a year prior. The first novel in the young adult fantasy series, The Inheritance Cycle. Jacket protected in new (removable) archival sleeve but with some rubbing/scuffing to faces and wear around the edges - including chipping and small tears, especially to corners. Boards are straight and clean but with corners bumped. Spine is cocked and there are a few instances where binding is faintly visible in gutters, but hinges are secure and all pages remain attached. No writing inside or out. See photos for condition.
